I did my first meditation class on Tuesday, and it was powerful, revealing and such a wonderful thing to do. I have meditated at home many times, but never longer than 15-20 minutes. This lasted an entire hour!
I was taken to a meadow with spirit guides, the other people meditating with me and animals were also present. We had various interactions with intentions and light, but my favorite aspect was planting seeds, one for the recently deceased Monarch (our tiny little hatchling of a turtle we had for a week). The plant grew quickly and flowingly - it wrapped itself around me in a feeling of comfort. The colors were dull, but the plant was turtle markings through and through - it then released itself from me in a puff of smoke, much like Death Eaters in Harry Potter.
Monarch came to me a few other times, in adult form. I literally saw him grow up, it was amazing.
So here's to Monarch, the sweet aquatic turtle. He died from respiratory illness - he had had a cough and was gasping for air for a couple of days before he passed. We gave him an open-air burial on a log overlooking his pond - with a peppermint sprig and some oil on his chest so he may breathe well into the next life. I sure loved that little guy.
When he was dying, I pet him, knowing he had lived - because he had been loved. That's what it's about, right? And that's ultimately what this meditation was about, for all in the room. - ako
